Matt Nicholson

I am a PhD student in Information Science at University of Colorado Boulder, and I have previously held roles at Capital One, Nielsen, and Allstate. I graduated from Northwestern University cum laude with majors in Computer Science and Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences.

Hello, my name is Matt Nicholson. I am a technologist with a desire to make computational systems work for everyone.

In an increasingly computationally mediated world, I am especially interested in the roles that online communities take to support distributed systems of people working together to elicit change.

I am a second-year PhD student in the Department of Information Science at the University of Colorado Boulder, working in the Al-Adala Lab with Professor Bryan Semaan. My research interests are cooperation, coordination, and governance of/within in online communities.
